Europe’s used-BEV market has become more liquid in parts of 2026, but the recovery is not uniform. Indicata’s analysis of more than 14 million used-car adverts found that the fuel-price shock improved the operating-cost case for electric vehicles and led to stronger demand, tighter supply and a recovery in residual values in several markets. Germany, France and the Netherlands showed a more positive demand response, while the United Kingdom and Belgium continued to experience pressure where policy-driven or fleet-related supply remained high. That difference matters for cross-border traders: the same EV can have very different days-to-sale and retail pricing depending on the destination country. The United Kingdom remains a useful warning case. Indicata reported that ex-fleet EV stock continued to grow into early 2026 while used-EV market share stayed broadly flat, pushing Market Days’ Supply higher. The lesson is that inventory level, not just headline retail price, should be monitored before committing to a shipment. For Chinese premium models, official European distribution can materially improve liquidity. XPENG G9, DENZA D9 and ZEEKR 9X now have clearer European product pathways than China-only or parallel-import models, giving buyers more confidence in service, parts and warranty support.
